Ah, pecan pie — a true classic! Here’s a rich, gooey, nutty pecan pie recipe that’s perfect for holidays or anytime you want a slice of Southern sweetness.


🥧 Classic Pecan Pie

⏱️ Time: ~1 hour (includes baking and cooling)


✅ Ingredients:

For the crust:

  • 1 9-inch pie crust (store-bought or homemade)

For the filling:

  • 1 cup light corn syrup (or dark corn syrup for deeper flavor)

  • 1 cup packed brown sugar

  • 3 large eggs

  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • ¼ teaspoon salt

  • 1 ½ cups pecan halves (plus extra for decorating)


👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven:

    • 350°F (175°C).

  2. Prepare the crust:

    • Place your pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish.

    • Crimp edges if desired.

  3. Make the filling:

    • In a large bowl, whisk together corn syrup, brown sugar, eggs, melted butter, vanilla, and salt until smooth.

  4. Add pecans:

    • Stir in pecan halves gently.

  5. Fill the crust:

    • Pour the filling into the pie shell.

    • If you want, arrange extra pecans on top for decoration.

  6. Bake:

    • Bake 55–60 minutes. The filling should be set but still slightly jiggly in the center.

    • If the crust edges brown too fast, cover with foil.

  7. Cool:

    • Let the pie cool completely (at least 2 hours) before slicing — this helps it set perfectly.


🔄 Tips & Variations:

  • For a richer flavor, try adding a splash of bourbon or a teaspoon of espresso powder to the filling.

  • For a crunchy top, sprinkle a little sugar on the pecans before baking.

  • Want a gluten-free crust? Use almond flour crust or store-bought GF crust.
