Absolutely! Here’s a classic tomato salsa recipe — fresh, zesty, and super versatile. You can make it chunky or smooth, spicy or mild — perfect for chips, tacos, grilled meats, or breakfast eggs.


🍅 Fresh Tomato Salsa (Pico de Gallo Style)

🍽️ Makes: ~2 cups

⏱️ Time: 10–15 minutes


✅ Ingredients:

  • 4 medium ripe tomatoes, diced

  • ½ small red onion, finely chopped

  • 1–2 jalapeños or serrano peppers, finely minced (remove seeds for less heat)

  • 1–2 cloves garlic, minced or grated

  • Juice of 1 lime (or more to taste)

  • ¼ cup fresh cilantro, chopped

  • Salt, to taste (start with ½ tsp)

  • Optional: a pinch of sugar if tomatoes are too acidic


👨‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Chop & mix:

    • Combine tomatoes, onion, peppers, garlic, cilantro, and lime juice in a bowl.

  2. Season:

    • Add salt (and a pinch of sugar if needed). Mix well.

  3. Let it sit:

    • For best flavor, let the salsa rest for 10–15 minutes to let the flavors meld. Serve fresh or refrigerate for up to 2–3 days.


🔄 Variations:

  • Smooth restaurant-style salsa:
    Blend all ingredients in a food processor until desired consistency, then taste and adjust lime/salt.

  • Roasted tomato salsa:
    Char tomatoes, garlic, onion, and chilies under a broiler or in a dry skillet. Blend for a smoky flavor.

  • Fruit twist:
    Add diced mango, pineapple, or peach for a sweet-spicy combo.

  • Extra heat:
    Use serrano or habanero peppers instead of jalapeño.
